Weigh
To Go! Is a food and fitness program designed to help overweight
kids and their families learn about healthy eating and encourage an active
lifestyle. The program provides fun and interactive classes which focus
on healthy eating habits, including cooking classes, and fun fitness activities
designed to increase everyday activity and exercise. This six week program
targets children ages 9-14.
Topics to be covered include:
- Using the Food Guide Pyramid
- Energy Balance
- Exercise and Fitness
- Healthy Meals and Snacks
- Cooking Demonstrations
- Label Reading
- Meal Planning/Restaurant Choices
Objective:
- The Weigh To Go Program is designed to educate above - average weight children and their families about nutrition & healty lifestyles.
- Acquire an understanding of, and an increased sensitivity to hunger, appetite and fullness.
- Develop good eating habits.
- Understand the relationship between fitness and the body.
- Improve fitness levels.
- Increase self-esteem and develop a more positive body image.
Program:
Each session will include:
40 Minutes Nutrition Lesson
40 Minutes Cooking
30 Minutes Exercise
Kids will also be given a food and exercise diary as well as other activities to work on at home.
$25 for six week program Includes:
6 Group Classes
