(Corpus Christi, TX) Driscoll Children’s Hospital is excited to announce the upcoming events for Fiesta de los Ninos 2005. It is expected to be a great night for the children of South Texas and guests with wonderful “live” & “silent” auction items plus a headliner two-step performance from Country Singer, Mark Chesnutt.

Flint Hills Resources, LP, will renew its long standing commitment with a $40,000 donation to Fiesta de los Ninos. Each year, the event helps bring in thousands of dollars to one of the patient programs at Driscoll Children's Hospital. This year, our Craniofacial Center will benefit thanks in part to the generosity of Flint Hills Resources being the event’s first and strongest sponsor.

The 13th Annual Fiesta de los Ninos will be held on Friday, February 4, 2005 at the American Bank Center.
“Through your support of Fiesta de los Ninos more than $1 million dollars has come to Driscoll Children's Hospital that in turn has provided valuable services to our small patients,” says Rick Merrill, President/CEO of Driscoll Children's Hospital. “Many of the dollars received have provided services that otherwise may not have been possible.”

Driscoll Children’s Craniofacial Center will bring together a team of experts whose common goal is the health and well-being of a child. The Craniofacial Center will specialize in the treatment of facial cleft lip and/or palate, craniofacial syndromes and deformities, acute traumatic injuries, ear deformities and burn and scar reconstruction plus many other conditions. As the only facility of its kind in South Texas, this center will offer children their continued necessary treatment and follow up visits provided by our specialized doctors whose work is known world wide in their field of expertise.

Since opening its doors in 1953, Driscoll Children’s Hospital has been offering hope and healing to the children of South Texas for half a century. The facility is a 200-bed pediatric tertiary care center with pediatric board-certified specialists representing 19 medical and nine surgical specialties. Each year, more than 6,000 children are admitted for inpatient care, 5,000 for day surgery, and 50,000 for outpatient primary and specialty care, as well as 40,000 for emergency care, as the first South Texas hospital with emergency services exclusively for children. Additionally, Driscoll maintains a state-of-the-art ground/air transport team, 20-bed pediatric intensive care unit, 40-bed neonatal intensive care unit, and specialized medical outreach.
