EXCESSIVE CAR TEMPERATURES
POSE SERIOUS RISK TO CHILDREN
CAR TEMPERATURE AWARENESS
PROVIDED BY DRISCOLL CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
INJURY PREVENTION
| Who: |
Driscoll Children’s Hospital’s
Injury Prevention Program
The Injury Prevention Program provides training and education to
groups and individuals. The Injury Prevention Program is sponsoring
car temperature awareness this month.
|
| What: |
Each year, children are seriously injured and
even die as a direct result of excessive heat when left in locked
cars. During the hot summer months in South Texas, it is very important
for parents to understand the great danger that leaving or forgetting
your children in a car poses. Temperatures in locked cars can reach
very dangerous levels. In an effort to educate parents on this topic,
Driscoll Children’s Hospital’s Injury Prevention Program
will be available in McAllen to demonstrate the use of temperature
gages in cars. Parents are invited to come and learn more about
how to prevent this danger to their children during these hot summer
months. |
