DRISCOLL APPOINTS KRISTI MORALES
AS DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & PUBLIC RELATIONS

(Corpus Christi, Texas) Driscoll Children's Hospital and its Governing Board are pleased to announce Kristi Morales has been appointed as a Director of Marketing and Public Relations. The announcement was made by Rick Merrill, C.E.O. and President of the hospital.

In her new position, Morales will be responsible for spearheading the hospital’s public relations arm in addition to her current responsibilities of leading the Marketing team aimed at increasing awareness of the hospital’s many programs and patient services, as well as brand positioning through advertising, local media, and web presence. Morales started at Driscoll in 2000 as Marketing Manager and was promoted to Director of Marketing in 2003. Prior to joining Driscoll, she was Executive Director of the American Cancer Society’s Corpus Christi Metro Unit overseeing fundraising efforts including Cattle Barons and Relay for Life, volunteer recruitment and retention, educational programming, as well as development and implementation of cancer support groups.

A Coastal Bend native and Aransas Pass High School graduate, Morales earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. She pursues extensive community commitments such as volunteering for the American Cancer Society and its Relay for Life annual walk and City Smoking Ordinance projects as well as the Rise School, a new school for special needs children. Morales is also a member of the Junior League of Corpus Christi participating on various projects such as Power of Pink Breast Cancer Awareness and the Skate Park, as well as acting as Public Relations Chairman publicizing the organization’s philanthropic works and Provisional Advisor training new league members.

Since opening its doors in 1953, Driscoll Children’s Hospital has been offering hope and healing to the children of South Texas for half a century. The facility is a 189-bed pediatric tertiary care center with pediatric board-certified specialists representing 19 medical and nine surgical specialties. Each year, more than 6,000 children are admitted for inpatient care, 5,000 for day surgery, and 50,000 for outpatient primary and specialty care, as well as 40,000 for emergency care, as the first South Texas hospital with emergency services exclusively for children. Additionally, Driscoll maintains a state-of-the-art ground/air transport team, 20-bed pediatric intensive care unit, 40-bed neonatal intensive care unit, and specialized medical outreach.
